New York New York!

New York City – such a glamorous place! My friend Ning gave me the right impression when he told me that New Yorkers tend to think that they live in the center of the world. Haha! It was Ning’s birthday when I arrived and I had the pleasure of celebrating with him and his friends all weekend. We ate NY style pizza, clubbed in the Meat Packing District, saw a Broadway musical (Avenue Q), walked the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset, watched the Latin dancers at night under the Manhattan Bridge in Astoria, ate at amazing brunch and lunch places in East Village & China Town, and shopped in my favourite shopping destination, Soho! It was all such an experience, and all throughout it shone with the glamour that is NYC. We actually talked about how NYC has made trash on the side-walk, grimey buildings, yellow cabs, crazy people on the subway, hotdog stands, and fire-escapes on the front of buildings so characteristically glamorous and “New York”! It’s true and I was smiling all the time as I took photos of it! See some of my snaps below. New York New York!!! Special Thanks to Ning who gave me the “Princess Treatment” at Hotel Ning! I even received a Cello Welcome Performance by my talented musician friend Ning Yap!

Ning had this rather eccentric lady approach him in Godiva and let him hold her budgey bird. It pooped all over the store and then we got kicked out hahaha!

I think this shot just says “New York City!”. The girl on the bicycle is texting and riding. Classic NYC local who has to multitask their busy days away hahaha!

Rows of hotdog stands! So New York!

Brooklyn Bridge cable shot. I like how they have American flags on everything in the US. Made in America!

As the sun was setting over the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan city skyline.

This is the Manhattan Bridge. On Summer nights the locals in Astoria come out to dance under it. You can hear Latin music booming with the bridge amplifying the music!

Ning joked that on a clear day you could see the Sydney Harbour Bridge from NYC hahaha! I guess it does look exactly like it…

This was taken at a Philipino Fusion restaurant in East Village called Marharlika, 111 First Avenue, East Village, New York in Downtown Manhattan. AAAAMMMMMAAAAZZZZING food! Everything we ordered off the menu (pig snouts and all) were delicious and presentation was beautiful! Take the waitresses’ suggestions and you won’t regret! YUM!
