Summer is in full swing here in Melbourne, and boy is it hot! Friends and I decided to hang out at the Fitzroy Pools to cool off over the weekend. It’s an outdoor pool, and they had a DJ playing some sweet tunes which made the whole place a giant pool party. Fitzroy Pools is THE PLACE to people watch because the entire suburb in addition to the 3 postcodes over is full of PYTs (Pretty Youth Things). Just about everyone at the pool was good-looking, tan and fit! More interesting, they’re all Melbourne hipster cool, so the outside of the building was overrun with retro bicycles with their locks tangled together. My friends and I sat by the pool for about 3 hours and observed people while making up their life-stories. Sitting around was also like watching a swimwear fashion parade with all the pretty little bikinis (I want that one, and that one, and that one). It was a Sunday afternoon well spent. I can’t believe I’ve been indoors all summer!
