The Hardware Societe – Brunch

The other weekend I went to one of the most hyped-up Breakfast/Lunch places in all of Melbourne – The Hardware Societe. I turned up seeking a table for 4 at 11am for brunch, and was told that I needed to wait 50 minutes!!!! Of course, who needs brunch when you can wait for lunch, right? My visiting friend from Adelaide promised it would worth the wait, so we waited…along with a crowd of about 60 other people sitting on the concrete in a narrow alleyway. Once we got a table, it was hard to get rid of us (it’s winter and it’s cold outside). I admit the food presentation would have given anyone food envy if it wasn’t for the fact that everybody’s food looked as good. I can also vouch for the hot chocolate as being one of the best that I’ve had – pretty darn good! Happy food snaps below for my hungry followers. My review is that on any other day I wouldn’t wait 50 minutes to get a table, but in this instance it was worth it. Another one of Melbourne’s hidden gems.
